Kevin Kozak, MD, PhD, and Deric Wheeler, PhD have joined the DHO faculty at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health as of August 1, 2008. DHO welcomes both of them to the department and to the University of Wisconsin.

On May 20, 2008, Dr. John Kuo became the first recipient of the HEADRUSH Professorship Research Award. Dr. Kuo is an acclaimed neurosurgeon with clinical interests in neuro-oncology and a vibrant laboratory research program focusing on innovative therapeutic approaches, especially in evaluation of mechanisms of stem cell resistance.

Drs. Jarrod Adkison and George Cannon have both been awarded travel grants for their exciting research in lung cancer. They presented their work at the first annual ESMO-IASCL in Geneva Switzerland held on April 23-26. The work, under the mentorship of Drs.
